"There is a voice that doesn't use words. Listen." — Rumi

Why now

As someone who practices leadership at work, home, and in life, you're carrying the pressure of holding things together for other people, amidst constant change and the quiet expectation that you'll stay steady so others can lean on you.

We're living through a season of rapid change, chaos, uncertainty and disruption unlike anything most of us have navigated before. That's what makes caring for ourselves and our community more than a nice-to-have right now.

You've gotten good at moving fast and holding a lot, and it's easy to lose track of your own signal underneath it all. This day-retreat is an invitation to do something different: reconnect with your inner light and build the courage to lead from it.

This isn't about getting calm by tuning out. It's about staying engaged with the world, with joy, with what matters to you, without losing yourself in the noise.

During our time together

We'll cultivate three things

Embodied clarity

A felt sense of your own inner light, and clarity on what you value most right now.

Grounded capacity

A nervous system with room for its full range: steady enough to meet what's hard, with space for joy and ease.

Practices to return to

Anchors, ready whenever you need them, to integrate this work into your day-to-day life.

The arc of the day

Across the day we'll move through

Opening circle

Arriving fully, in body and in community.

Gentle movement

Mobility balls for myofascial release and somatic yin yoga to tend to our tissues and support nervous system regulation.

Nourishment

Gather around the table for an organic, gluten-free, vegetarian lunch prepared by a local personal chef.

Somatic practice

Nervous-system practices to help us regulate, relate, and grow together, with room for humor and lightness alongside the deeper work.

Time in nature

The beautiful grounds and views at Casa Sangha in Toro Canyon as co-facilitator.

Integration & closing ritual

Personal reflection and small-group sharing, then a practice to carry your spark forward into daily life.

And when the day formally ends, you're invited to stay a while: lounge by the pool, enjoy a light dinner, and take a dip if you'd like.

Inner Light is for people who

  • Know that how you lead yourself shapes how you lead, and impact, everyone around you
  • Are ready to tend your inner light with the same care you give everything and everyone else
  • Feel the weight of this moment, personally and collectively, and are looking for a way through that doesn't require shutting down
  • Practice leadership... at work, at home, or simply in how you move through life
  • Long to gather in small, intimate containers with like-minded community
  • Are craving embodied practice, not just more information, insights or advice

Where we'll gather

Casa Sangha, Summerland

A quiet property in Toro Canyon with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. The grounds are part of the day. We'll practice inside with the glass walls open, eat outside under the olive tree, and take unhurried time in between.

The body is a sacred instrument for the purpose of bringing light to Earth.

Giving back

$25 of every ticket will be donated to Jodi House, a local Santa Barbara nonprofit supporting traumatic brain injury survivors as they rebuild their lives. Tending our own light, in community, extends naturally to tending others' — this felt like the right way to let the day give beyond the room it's held in.

Frequently asked questions

Before you register

Is lunch included?

Yes — a local personal and event chef is preparing an organic, locally grown, gluten-free and vegetarian meal alongside refreshing beverages and a light dessert. Fresh snacks are available all day. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, just be in touch.

What if I'm not a leader in the traditional sense?

I welcome leadership in all forms: at home, in life and at work. If you invest in your community, lead with intention, and care about the ripple effect you have on those around you, we'd love for you to join.

How physically demanding is it?

There will be no strenuous movement. Everything we practice will be on the floor and supported by props such as blankets, blocks, sandbags and bolsters. Yin yoga includes 3–5 minute holds in supported positions — this is not a "no pain no gain" class.

What if I have an injury or physical limitation?

Share any limiting factors with ElizaBeth in advance. The class is beginner-friendly. No deep knee bends, no strong shoulder stretches, nothing upside down. All practices are optional and adaptable for different bodies and comfort levels.

What should I bring, and what should I wear?

A journal, pen, and a refillable water bottle. You'll be asked to bring two objects that are meaningful to you for one of our practices, and more instructions will be sent as it gets closer. All props and mats are provided.

Bring layers. For the mobility and movement portion in the morning I recommend form-fitting activewear you're comfortable in, since the self-myofascial release balls can sometimes grab looser clothing. You're welcome to bring a change of clothes if you'd prefer something else for lunch or the afternoon. And pack a bathing suit if you'd like to take a dip in the pool once the retreat day is over.

Will there be partner work, group sharing, journaling, silence, or time outdoors?

There will be opportunities to share in our intimate group of twelve, in small groups and in partner practices. Silence is always honored, and you're welcome to participate, or not, in ways that work for you.

There's a brief journaling portion of the day, so please bring a journal and pen. We practice silence during an extended savasana and a short guided meditation.

Registered attendees are also invited to lounge at the property afterwards, enjoy a light dinner, and take a dip in the pool if they'd like, once the retreat formally ends.

Will people be expected to talk about personal experiences or be emotionally vulnerable?

Connecting more deeply with the body and our inner light is inherently vulnerable, and beautiful. This work asks you to be both courageous and heart-centered, while staying connected to your own agency and listening for what feels right for you.

Participants are invited to help cultivate a brave space: one where confidentiality is honored, honesty is welcome, connection is mutual, and people can share in ways that are right-sized for both them and the group. Silence is always welcomed, and you can choose to join in, or not, on any activity.

Is the day fairly structured, or is there spacious, unprogrammed time?

There's a set plan from 10am to 5pm that includes the practices described above, with breaks for lunch and hydration throughout. Registered attendees are also invited to stay for a couple of hours afterwards, lounge by the pool, enjoy light bites, and share unstructured time together.

Is there parking at Casa Sangha?

Yes, there's parking on site for every attendee.

Is Casa Sangha accessible?

The property is mostly flat, with a few small sets of stairs. If you have further accessibility questions, please get in touch. I'd be happy to learn more about what I can do to support you.

Will I have to sit on the floor all day?

No. During our circle times we'll be enjoying different spaces on the property, and chairs or couches are always available. For participants who enjoy the floor, bolsters and backjacks are there too.

What's the cancellation/refund policy?

Registration is non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, you can transfer your place to someone else.
